If one presses the accelerator slightly there is many a time jerky movement as the accelerator pedal is very free and difficult to adjust at low speeds.

In heavy bumper to bumper traffic the problems I have faced are i) occasional clutch judder and ii) at crawling speed it is difficult to keep a smooth movement. However, this is much less apparent in heavy traffic. With the AC running the engine seems strained and the acceleration is definitely a problem especially when climbing up one of the many flyovers in Delhi. Even on bad roads at moderately high speeds car feels very safe. I have driven at 100+ kmph and find the car very stable and planted. Don't ask me why this happens - it shouldn't make any difference. The engine runs smoother and seems freer when the fuel tank is full as opposed to half full or less than half. I also noticed something strange which is confirmed after several checks by me. This is for about 1/4 km and then it becomes normal. When starting up from cold the engine has some hesitation after up shifting to 2nd gear. I am able to keep up with and often overtake other cars like Dzire, Xcent, Celerio etc. Now, with the AC off the car has more than adequate performance if you work the gears to keep above 2000 rpm. The fuel efficiency certainly went down to 13 to 13.2 km/l with AC running most of the time.Īfter about 4500 km on the odometer the engine definitely felt smoother and more free running. Thereafter, most of the driving has been in typically heavy Delhi traffic at peak times - morning 9.30 am and evening 5.00 pm. This enabled me to get a very good mileage - 15.5-16 k/lit - in the first few months till around 3000 km of running.

In the evening average speed was only 25 kmph. The road was very clear in the early morning with an average speed of 50 kmph. Initially I was moving back and forth between Delhi and Noida through DND daily. This note is largely about my experience with the performance of my Tiago in city driving. It is not much as I have two other cars - Honda Cities sharing the daily runs. I have owned a Tiago XZ (Revotron) for over 7 months and covered 5600 km.
